Behind the Blooms: A small snipit of a day in the life of a Florida wedding florist'

Updated: Nov 21

Weddings are a celebration of love, joy, and new beginnings. One element that adds an enchanting touch to these special occasions is the art of floral design. Have you ever wondered about the creative minds behind the stunning bouquets and captivating centerpieces that adorn wedding venues? Today, we delve into the world of wedding florists to uncover the work that unfolds behind the blooms.

Day one of wedding week

The wedding preparations begin early in the week. Floral artisans delve into their craft, surrounded by an abundance of petals, leaves, and scents as they start processing the flowers. Their workspace becomes a sea of foliage and stems.

Design preperation

Preparing all the containers for the week ahead is essential for successful design work. Whether you are working on low compotes or elevated pieces, having everything prepped and ready will streamline your process and save time. Make sure to organize and set up your containers in advance to ensure a smooth workflow.

Design days

Creating those beautiful designs with a full design team over a period of days.

The air is filled with the sweet perfume of flowers that many of us no longer smell being so emerced in flowers for decades. Our design teams works their magic, intertwining blooms into intricate arrangements that reflect our couple's unique style and personality.

Wedding day arrives and the magic begins

We arrive in the early hours of the morning with all types of vehicles for loading time. We are pulling racks of flower designs along with wedding personals. We are getting ready to fill those vehicles for transport to the wedding venue. Everything must be nice and tight and secure. We do not want to encounter broken stems if humanly possible.

Upon reaching the wedding venue, the action begins. Initially, we transport bridal items to the bridal suite, communicate with all necessary vendors, unload and start setting up for the ceremony, and then proceed to transform the reception area to reflect the envisioned beauty. All of this must be done according to a strict timeline.

Behind every bouquet, every centerpiece, and every floral arch lies hours upon hours of dedication, creativity, and passion. Wedding florists pour their hearts into their work, infusing each creation with a piece of their soul. Their reward? The joy that lights up a bride's eyes when she beholds her bouquet for the first time, the tears of happiness that flow when the couple says "I do" surrounded by a garden of flowers.

From the quiet moments of inspiration in the early morning to the bustling activity of transforming a blank canvas into a floral masterpiece, a day in the life of a wedding florist is a journey of creativity, dedication, and love. So, the next time you marvel at a bouquet of roses or a cascading floral arrangement at a wedding, remember the hands that brought those blooms to life, infusing them with the magic of love and celebration.

Behind the elegance and grandeur of weddings lie the untold stories of the artisans who weave magic with flowers, turning dreams into reality one bloom at a time. For wedding florists, every day is a canvas, and every petal is a brushstroke in the masterpiece of love.

At the end of the day we are tired, sore and worn out but must return to break down all of the wedding day elements. Everything must be loaded, returned for cleaning and place back on shelves until the next wedding, where this entire process begins again.

Each wedding, customization, vision and time line is different. The wedding week days not include all the hours of paperwork, proposals, designs, sketches and ordering that goes into each wedding.

Remember that when contacting your florists and why they charge what they do.
